Liftvel is a gym app for logging workouts, tracking progress and training with friends. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We don't sell your data and we don't show ads.
What we collect
Account: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture from Google.
Profile: your gym name, @username, profile photo and quote, and the gym you pick. Others can see these, depending on your privacy settings.
Training data: workouts, sets, body weight, routine and app settings are kept on your phone and backed up to your account so they come back on a new phone. This includes the optional "About you" details (height, age range, gender, goal) if you fill them in. These are private.
What you post: posts, photos you choose to share, comments, reactions, messages and Shop listings.
Gym check-ins and location: when you log a workout or confirm you're at your gym, the app uses your phone's location to check you're near the gym. We store the result (which gym, which day, and whether you were there), not a location history.
Notifications: a device token so we can send reminders and activity alerts. You can turn notifications off in your phone's settings.
Verification: if you apply as a coach or gym owner, the details and proof you send. Proof photos are only seen by our admins and are deleted after review.
Usage: when you last opened the app, so we can see how many people use it. Only our admins can see this.
Progress photos stay on your phone. Body progress photos and measurements are never uploaded, unless you choose to send two photos for an AI report (see below).
AI features
Coach notes and photo reports are optional. Only when you tap Send do we send your training numbers (and, for a photo report, the two photos you picked) to Google Gemini to write the report. We don't store the photos. Google may keep and review what's sent to improve its services under its own terms. We never send your name, email, gym or location to the AI.
Who sees what
Your posts are visible to signed-in users, or only to approved followers if your account is private.
You choose who sees your gym (everyone, followers or nobody) and whether you appear in "At the gym today".
Trainers and gym buddies you add only see what you switch on for them, and you can remove them at any time.
Services we use
Supabase: accounts, database and file storage.
Google: sign-in, Firebase notifications, Gemini (AI reports) and Google Maps Places (gym search).
OpenStreetMap: gym search and working out which country a gym is in.
Cloudflare: hosting this website and the web app.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Settings → Delete account). This permanently deletes your profile, posts, shared photos, comments, messages, listings, gym check-ins and your workout backup. See how to delete your account.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections and protected by access rules so people can only read what they're allowed to.
Children
Liftvel isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
